About Communities for Stability

Communities for Stability (C4S) have proven itself to be a well-founded, successful and supportive organisation continually expanding the provision of support for ‘under threat’ communities throughout the UK. The need for providing access to the information, skills, experience and passion of the people that are part of C4S is widespread and increasing.

The aims of C4S is to make a positive impact on unlocking Social Capital, empowering Social Inclusion and challenging the negative elements of our Communities. We are continuing to explore the options open to us through forging influential partnerships, unlocking the potential of our members and actively encouraging a common social agenda for positive change. Ultimately we can ensure that everyone has a stronger voice, a real choice and a greater sense of belonging, prosperity and wellbeing.

The group set up in 2006 has gone from strength to strength - not only in areas surrounded by regeneration but also as part of a wider group which fights for people's rights nationwide. C4S have established an umbrella group of many groups of people up and down the country and our aims and objectives are to support anyone who’s Community is under threat from unnecessary upheaval and to work with the members of that Community to offer viable, inclusive and cost effective alternatives that strengthen Community Cohesion and unlock Social Capital.

The decision to form C4S was taken when it became apparent that there was a resistance from some authorities to engage in worthwhile consultation at a local level and we helped gather essential information concerning people's homes, futures and livelihoods to enable them to make informed choices and offer exciting new alternatives.

C4S are not opposed to regeneration but do object to what we consider to be unfair demolitions of sound properties for profit when they are obviously against the well-being of the local communities. There are alternatives and with the support of your Local Authority we can arrange for the structures to be put in place to ensure that your voice is heard, your concerns are fully discussed and your needs are taken into account.
